WCEU of Daytona Beach-Orlando Launches as Fifteenth MHz Worldview Affiliate

WASHINGTON, DC, DAYTONA BEACH, FL- MHz Worldview, the independent non-commercial channel bringing a world perspective to US audiences, increases its national distribution with the addition of WCEU Channel 15 of Daytona Beach-Orlando-Melbourne as its fifteenth affiliate on July 1.

Channel 15 is a department of Daytona State College, with studios and offices located at the Center for Educational Telecommunications on the Daytona Beach Campus, licensed in New Symrna Beach, FL.  Channel 15 strives to use the power of television to make learning available and enjoyable for viewers throughout the Central Florida. 

Located in the 19th largest television market in the US, WCEU- Channel 15 reaches approximately 1.5 million households via broadcast, with a potential audience of over 3.5 million people. The channel has a 50-mile radius cable coverage area, reaching over 1.4 million viewers.

Andy Chalanick of Channel 15 says MHz Worldview programming brings the world perspective to the viewers of Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns and Volusia counties.

Frederick Thomas, CEO of MHz Worldview says the draw to Orlando for international visitors and business in recent years has prompted an interest in the exchange of global information, “Many affiliates are finding their audiences are more and more interested in the world around them and are taking pro-active steps to secure fresh, reflective content. MHz Worldview is happy to bring global viewpoints to viewers in the Orlando-Daytona Beach area.”

The addition of WCEU-Channel 15 to the existing affiliate line-up extends MHz Worldview’s national reach to nearly 16 million households. MHz Worldview is also available via broadcast and/or cable in: Charleston, IL- WEIU; Charlottesville, VA- WHTJ; Chicago, IL- WYCC; Denver, CO- KBDI; Flint, MI- WDCQ; Minneapolis, MN- MPS Cable;  Richmond, VA- WCVE; Salt Lake City, UT- UEN statewide; St. Paul, MN- St. Paul Neighborhood Network; San Francisco, CA- KCSM; Stanford, CA- Stanford University Cable; Tacoma-Seattle, WA- KBTC; Las Vegas, NV- VegasPBS and Washington, DC- WNVC/MHz Networks, as well as nationally via DirecTV and WorldTV satellite.
