FALLS CHURCH, VA- “Inside Out” airing in June- Gay & Lesbian Pride Month- premiers in the Eye Openers block on MHz Worldview/MHz Networks 1.
The documentary airs June 7 at 8 PM EST.
The documentary examines the world of three transsexuals living in the Islamic Republic of Iran: Maria is a middle-aged single woman with three children. Saman is a newly married young man. Arash is an eighteen-year-old high-school dropout. The documentary provides intimate conversations with all three, allowing them to tell their stories, including a lifelong struggle to come to terms with their gender dysphoria.
The film, in Persian with English subtitles, was directed by Zohreh Shayesteh. Distributed by First Run/Icarus Film, more information is available at www.frif.com/new2006/insi.html.
