UEN-TV Launches as Newest MHz Worldview Affiliate February 1

WASHINGTON, DC, SALT LAKE CITY- MHz Worldview, the independent non-commercial globally-minded channel, grows its national distribution with the addition of UEN-TV in Salt Lake City, UT as an affiliate. The station, also known as KUEN, is a service of the statewide Utah Education Network and isthe exclusive Utah broadcaster of MHz Worldview.
According to Laura Hunter, UEN-TV station manager, MHz Worldview's cross-cultural programming helps fulfill UEN's mission to create educational opportunities, connect people and foster collaboration and has garnered interest since initial announcement, “Utahns have responded enthusiastically to a sneak peak of the new channel. Starting in 2007, UEN presented previews of MHz Worldview programming to community groups, with 98% of participants wanting more of what they saw and recommending UEN carry the MHz Worldview programming in Utah.”
The Utah Education Network is a statewide consortium of higher and public education and libraries. UEN’s high speed computer network connects Utah colleges and universities as well as the state’s school districts and libraries. The Network facilitates interactive video conferencing, provides instructional support services, and operates station UEN-TV on behalf of the Utah State Board of Regents. UEN services benefit more 850,000 students, educators and viewers throughout the state of Utah.

The addition of KUEN to the existing affiliate line-up extends MHz Worldview’s national reach to over 15 million households. MHz Worldview is also available via broadcast and/or cable in: Charleston, IL- WEIU; Charlottesville, VA- WHTJ; Chicago, IL- WYCC; Denver, CO- KBDI; Flint, MI- WDCQ; Minneapolis, MN- MPS Cable; Richmond, VA- WCVE; St. Paul, MN- St. Paul Neighborhood Network; San Francisco, CA- KCSM; Stanford, CA- Stanford University Cable; Tacoma-Seattle, WA- KBTC; Washington, DC- WNVC/MHz Networks, as well as nationally via DirecTV and WorldTV satellite.
