Mountain Lake PBS Launches as 26th MHz Worldview Affiliate

FALLS CHURCH, VA-  Mountain Lake PBS of Plattsburgh, NY announces the launch of MHz Worldview. 

Mountain Lake becomes the 26th national MHz Worldview affiliate, and further extends the MHz programming reach to Canada.

MHz Worldview will be available to area viewers via digital broadcast channel 57.2, formerly the Thinkbright channel.

Mountain Lake PBS reaches over 3.9 million viewers in New York, Vermont, Quebec and Ontario, and produces award-winning local programs and documentaries. Mountain Lake also devotes at least eight hours a day to programming for children from preschool through school age.

Owned and operated by the Mountain Lake Public Telecommunications Council—a volunteer board of trustees representing the station’s geographic area— Mountain Lake PBS is also registered as a charitable organization in Canada, represented by Les Amis Canadiens de Mountain Lake PBS.

The station’s mission calls for ‘meeting the educational and cultural needs of the regional community,’ as well as ‘embracing the opportunity to serve a diverse U.S. and Canadian audience.’ The addition of international programming from MHz Worldview blends with the Mountain Lake PBS broadcast of programs acquired from a variety of different sources from around the world.
