WNEO of Cleveland Launches as 22nd MHz Worldview Affiliate

CLEVELAND, OH & FALLS CHURCH, VA-  On June 13, WNEO/WEAO of Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown launches as the 22nd MHz Worldview affiliate throughout the country.

MHz Worldview will be available to area viewers on WNEO-DT 45.3 and WEAO-DT 49.3 to 1.8 million households (4.4 million viewers.)
The channel will also be available via Time Warner Cable's digital SD lineup in Akron, Canton and Youngstown on channel 367.  Massillon Cable airs MHz Worldview on channel 85.

In 2008, WNEO/Youngstown and WEAO/Akron adopted its current name: Western Reserve Public Media to reflect the broadcaster’s regional coverage that unifies the major metropolitan areas of northeast Ohio — Akron, Canton, Cleveland and Youngstown/Warren.

The two separately licensed public television stations operate under one 501 (c)(3) corporation, known as Northeastern Educational Television of Ohio, Inc. (NETO). NETO is owned and operated by a consortium of The University of Akron, Kent State University and Youngstown State University.

Western Reserve PBS’s over-the-air broadcast service area is extended by carriage on almost all the cable systems and satellite services in northeast Ohio and parts of western Pennsylvania.

MHz Networks CEO, Frederick Thomas says, “WNEO and WEAO viewers will be able experience a wide array of world perspective through MHz Worldview and I believe the educational focus of our programming supports the WNEO mission of ‘lifelong learning.'"

The launch of WNEO as an affiliate brings MHz Worldview national distribution to nearly 23 million households across the U.S.
