MHz’s Education, Arts and Technology workshop brings the tools of movie making into the ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) classroom. Through the hands-on process of scripting, set design, filming and editing, students learn problem solving and story telling, a process that advances ESOL students’ spoken and written English. Reviews of the ESOL/EAT Workshop “[The] ESOL students, who often times feel marginalized and lonely, it really brought them into the larger community, and made them feel special and … more confident…I would definitely recommend [the workshop]. It’s been an excellent experience for my class.” –Leila Lekvolo, 5th Grade teacher, Hoffman Boston Elementary School, Arlington, VA. |
