Mission MHz Education seeks to nurture global awareness and promote youth-created media. Some of our initiatives include:
MHz Education offers international educational programs (academic, cultural, language,-learning, native language, etc.) that teachers and students may use in the classroom or at home.
The Shortie Awards: International Film & News Festival, which began as a digital education initiative in the Washington, D.C. metro, has grown from receiving a handful of regional entries in 2001 to almost 400 entries from 23 states and 13 countries in 2009. The response from students and teachers around the world proves that young people have something to say, and The Shortie Awards is fast-becoming the place to say it and get exposure.
A new feature of the Saturday morning MHz Worldview lineup, ShorTV features international children’s programming. While the approaches of the shows may be different, the values are the same. ShorTV is a child’s window to programs, culture and perspectives from all over the world
MHz Education offers workshops dealing with film for teachers, media specialists, school administrators, as well as K-12 students.
Through our partnerships, we provide professional development relating to the integration of technology in the classroom Contact for further information.
