MHz Networks Education Resources provides educational services to the Washington, DC metropolitan area, one of the most culturally diverse regions in the country. Our challenge is to offer our teachers the tools they need to do exceptional work in their classrooms. At its core, MHz is an educational organization, with long-standing partnerships with more than 500 schools in northern Virginia and Washington, DC. MHz supports educators through face-to-face and online staff development opportunities that align with national standards while encouraging creativity and fostering intercultural understanding.
Some of the other services we provide our community include instructional programming, an international student film festival (The Shortie Awards), and an original educational film curriculum. We are continuously looking at the future of new media and its impact on education.
This year we’re integrating the popular EAT (Education Arts Technology) program and website into the main MHz education website. The same EAT workshops and tools (DVD & curriculum) are available here, on the education site. From here, you can also find out about the Shortie Awards (formerly the MHz Shortz Student Film Festival) and go right to the new festival website: www.shortieawards.org .
With a finger on the pulse of our digital age, MHz hopes to be a facilitator to help educators navigate this increasingly technological world.
