Mission and Purpose

Established in 2001, The Shortie Awards: Student News and Film Festival recognizes original digital media productions created by student filmmakers, ages 7-18, and their teachers. The Shortie Awards focuses on nurturing imagination and choice making in students. The Shortie Awards is an international film festival.

Scene First, Festival Dates: March 27-29, 2008: provides students with opportunities to show their films, network with industry professionals and receive hands-on training. Scene First is committed to providing young filmmakers with the knowledge and tools they need to advance their art.
