Jim is Senior Corporate Counsel for Cisco Systems, Inc., the world's leading supplier of networking equipment and network management for the Internet. He advises Cisco's sales, technical and business teams in the areas of strategic sourcing and procurement of telecommunications products and services; intellectual property development, licensing and protection; and complex hardware, software and systems integration.
Prior to joining Cisco, Jim was Counsel at Alston & Bird, one of the nation's top corporate and technology law firms. Mr. Casey received his B.A. degree in government in 1989 from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. degree, cum laude, in 1995 from Howard University School of Law, where he was on the editorial board of the Howard Law Journal.
He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia. Representative Experience Counsel to several global financial services companies in their purchase of various outsourcing, technology and telecommunications services. Counsel to one of the world's largest network equipment provider in the sales of its hardware, software and services to telecommunications companies. Counsel to a tier-one Internet backbone and online services provider in the formation and sales of its digital certificate and web-based product offerings. Counsel to a leading-edge Internet content delivery services provider in the structuring and negotiating of its customer and reseller agreements and its technology integration arrangements.
